The First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei Wusu has guided his side (majority group) in Parliament to approve the 2022 rejected budget.
In what seems like a drama or ‘concert party’ the Majority led by Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu to file the motion for the approval of the budget.
With only 137 members on the floor of the house, as it was in the case of the earlier ruling on Friday 27th November 2021 by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to reject 2022 budget, the NPP side in the also approved the rejected budget.
Meanwhile the Minority Caucus at a press briefing called the bluff of their counterparts saying what happened yesterday 30th November 2021 was just theatricals and gymnastics which is unconstitutional.
None of the Minority Caucus members step foot in Parliament yesterday as it was in the case of the NPP majority group who attend Parliament, partook in proceedings and ‘shameful’ walkout in the middle of voting proceedings.
Most Ghanaians are currently confused as to whether what the majority did in Parliament is binding especially when the budget had earlier been rejected.
It is striking to note that on Friday, November 26th, 2021, the Members of Parliament present on the floor of Parliament was 274 unlike yesterday sittings where there were only 137 MPs on the floor.
